Strategy guide

How house edge, instabust, and bonuses interact - and simple approaches to play.

Overview

EtherCrash is mostly luck, with a small skill component around bonuses and timing. Casual play is fine; stronger play focuses on the bonus structure.

Instabust

There is a 1% chance of an instant bust. When that happens, nobody wins. That expected return funds the bonus pool.

House edge

House edge scales between 0% and 1%. See the odds calculator for cashout targets.

Bonuses

The last player to cash out before a bust receives a bonus. On average it matches what the house makes from instabusts. FAQ: social bonus. If nobody collects it, the bonus rolls to the next game.

Single-player games

If you are the only player, you cannot overcome the house edge through bonuses - it becomes a pure luck game.

Simple greedy strategy

Stay in until you are the last player holding, then cash out immediately. This works well against early cashouts, but against the same strategy both players may hold forever and never claim the bonus.
